Muhammad Aslam Saleemi has stressed upon Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to fulfill his promise of initiating legal action against all those taking unlawful benefit under the NRO that had been struck down by the Supreme Court. Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said, after the SC short judgment, the Prime Minister had assured the nation and the media that the government would implement the court decision soon after its detailed judgment was issued. He said the detailed judgment had been released four days ago, therefore the Prime Minister should begin the implementation process by reopening the cases concerning billions of dollars lying in the Swiss banks. The JI deputy chief condemned the threatening statement of US Defence Secretary Robert Gates from India and warned that the US effort to build India as the regional policeman would disturb the balance of power in the area. He urged the Pakistani rulers to review their policies and build a power bloc in the area with the help of China and Iran for an effective check of the US and India’s designs. He stressed upon the patriotic masses and the political parties to join hands for foiling all enemy plans against Islam and this country. Ch. Aslam Saleemi said that the Pakistani daughter Dr Aafia Siddiqui was looking for a Muhammad Bin Qasim from behind the bars of a US jail but the Pakistani rulers were still handing over innocent citizens to the US and secret agencies in return for dollars. He called for immediate stoppage of the drone attacks or shooting down the drones.

JI asks PM Gilani to implement SC verdict on NRO
Current military operation in Baluchistan also destined to fail.
LAHORE, Jan.22:
The Jamaat e Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the 5th military operation going on Baluchistan would also fail like the previous four and the solution lay only in evolving national consensus and a national agenda.
He was addressing a national seminar on “ Baluchistan crisis, its cause, effects and solution” at Idara e Noor e Haq, Karachi on Wednesday, says a JIP press release here.
Prominent JUI leader Hafiz Husain Ahmed, acting chief of Baluchistan National Party Dr Jehannzeb Khan, and JI chiefs from Sindh and Baluchistan besides representatives of different political parties , prominent Baluch leaders , educationists, and columnists from national dailies also spoke on the occasion.
Syed Munawar Hasan said the Baluchistan issue was not the issue of a province only, it was an issue of the whole nation and the country and should be resolved as such. He said that there had been extra judicial killings, large scale abductions of the Baluchis and murders of young Baluch women and children.
He said as the Baluch leadership had rejected the Baluchistan package, the JI also rejected it. He called for ending the military operation as it was deepening hatred.
The JI chief said that in the 18th of February elections, the masses had voted for an end to the dictator’s rule with the hope that a new democratic culture would flourish in the country. But unfortunately, the thing had not changed at all.
He said that in the world history, problems had never been resolved through military operations. Nelson Mandela, Yasser Arafat and the Irish Republic Army were once condemned as terrorists but subsequently, the other side had to talk to them for a solution.
He noted that the MQM chief Altaf Husain had supported the operation in Swat but not in Karachi.
People to vote against pro-US policies: Baloch
Rawalpindi:
The residents of NA-55 will vote for Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the by-election on February 24 to reject pro-America policies and anti-people actions of provincial and federal governments.
JI central secretary general Liaquat Baloch stated this while addressing a ceremony held to inaugurate main election office of JI candidate from NA-55 Dr Muhammad Kamal here on Tuesday.
Baloch said the whole nation is eying on by-elections in Rawalpindi. He said the rulers in Islamabad and Lahore had disappointed the people and gave no relief to them. “Our people are well aware of facts and they cannot be misguided,” he said.
He said that due to wrong policies of the federal government and friendly opposition, the vital institutions of the country are heading towards confrontation and direct clash.
The ceremony was also addressed Maulana Abdul Mateen of JUI-F, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Hanif Chaudhry, Dabir Ahmed Khan and others. Sheikh Zahid, Muhammad Yamin Seithi, Sheikh Junaid and others announced their support to Dr Kamal.
